When it comes to business news these days, the words “high” and “unemployment” are frequently paired together and splashed across the front page of newspapers and websites. The poor state of the economy and statistics about unemployment can make the search for jobs in San Diego or elsewhere more than a little discouraging, but there are ways to find success!
New York Times bestselling author and internationally recognized expert in personal and professional development Peggy McColl recently shared her list of 8 ways you could be blocking your own success with the Huffington Post. Here are some steps to follow to make sure you aren’t hindering your success:
1. Feel the goal you want to achieve and imagine what it would feel like when you have achieved it.
2. Have faith. If you don’t have faith, you won’t be able to move yourself towards your own goals.
3. Focus on what you want instead of fearing what you don’t want.
4. Believe that you deserve to get the job, the promotion or whatever it may be. It sound simple, but it helps.
5. Take action! Begin by researching your goal online. Each morning, ask yourself: “What small step will I take towards achieving my goal today?” Each night, ask yourself: “What did I today to move closer to my goal?”
6. Have faith and move towards your goal even if you don’t exactly know how you will achieve it.
7. Don’t allow fear to consume you.
8. And last, but not least, don’t give up!
